Greenbank Student Village is located in one of Liverpool's most vibrant areas with parks, cafés, restaurants, shops and pubs and plenty to see and do. It's just a few miles away from campus so you'll be there in around 20 minutes!
Accepted a room in Greenbank Student Village? Here's what you need to know about getting to and from campus.
Taking the 699 bus
Most students living at Greenbank will take the 699 Arriva bus service. It runs from morning to evening meaning that you'll have a service that fits around your timetable. You can pick up the 699 outside of Greenbank reception and be dropped off at various points on campus depending on where your lecture is.
Purchasing your bus pass:
Pick up your bus pass at the Guild for an exclusively discounted rate for the entire academic year at £111 for 2026/27 (compared to the normal academic rate being £450). This discount applies to students living at Greenbank Student Village only.
The bus pass can only be purchased in person at the Guild of Students so you'll need to buy it in once you've arrived in Liverpool. Just have your Student ID card ready to show. Click here for the Guild's shop opening hours.
Not only does your pass get you from Greenbank to campus and the city centre, it also allows you to hop around on other Arriva buses in Merseyside and the North West. You can also download the handy MerseyTravel Journey Planner to plan your next day trip!
699 services dates
699 bus service runs throughout term time (dates below) but not during vacation periods e.g. winter and spring break. During that time, you can use your bus pass on other Arriva services from Smithdown Road (5-10 min walk) to campus and city centre.

Cycling & Bike Hire
Cycle from Greenbank to campus and see two of Liverpool's most beautiful parks and cycle routes along the way!
If you have a bike then we encourage you to bring it! Greenbank has a secure cycle storage unit and Bikiosk where you can arrange bike hire and free bike repairs with the Peloton team.
You can see all campus cycle storage locations on the Active Campus map.
Driving
We have very limited spaces available for students to bring their cars with them to Greenbank. We only recommend you do this if you need it for a specific reason such as placements, a medical requirement or care responsibilities.
There are limited car parking spaces at Greenbank Student Village. To find out more about this, please email the Greenbank Student Village GreenbankStudentVillageReception@liverpool.ac.uk.
Just remember that unfortunately there aren't parking spaces on campus so even if you do bring your car with you, you'll need to take the bus or cycle onto campus.
