This September, we're recruiting new HSC members to make a difference in their Hall. Plan exciting events, help build community in your Hall and develop a whole load of skills while meeting new people on your HSC.
What is the HSC all about?
Being a HSC member is all about being a representative for your Hall. With the rest of the committee, you will use a dedicated budget to organise events and activities for residents to able to come together and make the most of their time in Halls. The committee will be overseen by a HSC Residential Adviser and HSC team at the Guild of Students and University.
Joining your HSC is a low-commitment way to meet new people, make friends and have a go at event planning. You'll plan at least two events per semester and will meet with the committee once a week (wherever needed). The HSC is student led which means that it will fit around your studies and other commitments.
How do I get involved?
Joining your HSC is easy! Email hsc@liverpool.ac.uk and sign up to join your HSC on the Guild website.

What else do I need to know?
This is a voluntary role designed to help you gain new skills, try something new and meet new people.
You'll have planned and ran your first HSC event by the end of October and will be invited to the HSC networking evening in March 2026. Catch up with the other committees for a social and event debrief with food & drinks.
Please note that attending HSC training is one of the compulsory criteria for achieving the Liverpool Advantage Award. More details on how to achieve the award will be given at HSC online training on Wednesday 4th February 2026 (PM) - more details & sign up link coming soon!
