Along with other HSC members, use your dedicated budget to organise and run activities in your Hall. Help shape life in Halls and make a difference!

What kind of events do HSCs plan? 💭
Our HSCs run a whole range of events and activities year on year. What you run is decided by you and your committee! We want to see new and original ideas that will bring residents together...

How do I join my HSC? 📝
It’s easy! Join your HSC on the Guild’s website here (memberships open on 1st September 2026).
We’ll add to you the HSC channels and keep you up to date about HSC training coming up.
No experience and new to planning events? 🎉
No problem! No previous experience or training is needed in order to join your HSC!
We’ll train you up at our in-person session on Wednesday 7th October 2026, 2.30pm-4.30pm. You’ll find out how to successfully organise an event, work as a committee, budget and market your event. By the end of the session, your committee will have planned the first event of the year.
You'll also have a HSC Residential Adviser who will support and advise your committee throughout the year.
What else do I need to know?
Joining your HSC is a voluntary role designed to help you gain new skills, try something new and meet new people. You’ll regularly meet with your committee to plan and organise your events, but you’ll be able to work this around your studies and other commitments.
The HSC opportunity is open for any resident to join at any time of year. New members are always welcome.
